Artwork Guidelines for Custom Uniforms

Quick answer

Send your logo as a vector file (AI, EPS, SVG or PDF) if you can, with Pantone colour codes. If you only have an image, send the largest PNG or JPG you have, ideally at least 2,000 pixels wide. Rockhint’s designers can redraw a low-quality logo, but the closer your file is to print-ready, the faster your mockup arrives.

Best file types, ranked

File type Quality for printing Notes
AI, EPS, SVG, vector PDF Best Scales to any size without blurring
PNG with transparent background Good, if large At least 2,000 px wide
High-resolution JPG Usable White background must be removed
Screenshot, photo or small web image Poor We can redraw it

What is a vector file?

A vector file stores a logo as shapes and lines instead of pixels, so it stays sharp at any size, from a sleeve badge to a full back print. Logos made in Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW or Inkscape are usually vectors. Ask whoever designed your logo for the “original” or “vector” file.

Colours

  • Pantone codes are best. They’re the most precise way to match colours on fabric. Example: “Pantone 186 C” for a strong red.
  • No Pantone code? Send HEX or CMYK values, or a physical item in your colour.
  • Screens vary. Colours look different on phones and monitors, so judge final colours on the physical sample.

Fonts for names and numbers

  • Tell us the font name, or send the font file if it’s custom.
  • Choose bold, simple fonts for numbers. Referees must read them from a distance.
  • Check league rules for minimum number heights.

Placement

Tell us where each element goes. Common positions:

Element Usual position
Team crest Left chest or centre chest
Sponsor logo Centre chest, or back below the number
Player number Back, and often front or sleeves
Player name Back, above the number
League or kit-maker patch Right chest or sleeve
