Sublimation Printing for Custom Team Uniforms
Sublimation printing bonds ink inside polyester fibres, so the design becomes part of the fabric. At Rockhint in Sialkot, Pakistan, we sublimate jerseys, shorts and warm-ups for every sport we make. You get unlimited colours at one price, and prints that can’t crack, peel or wash out.
How sublimation works, step by step
- Artwork. Your approved mockup is laid out on every pattern piece for every size, so stripes and graphics line up at the seams.
- Printing. The design is printed in mirror image onto transfer paper with sublimation ink.
- Heat transfer. Paper and white polyester fabric pass through a heat press. The heat turns the ink into a gas that enters the fibres.
- Cooling and checking. The fabric cools, the ink locks in, and each panel is checked for colour and alignment before cutting and stitching.
What sublimation is good for
| You want | Why sublimation fits |
|---|---|
| Many colours, gradients or photos | Every colour prints at once, at no extra cost |
| Light, breathable jerseys | No ink layer on the surface, so the fabric still breathes |
| Names and numbers on every player | Each piece prints individually in the same run |
| Designs that last | The print can’t crack or peel and resists fading |
| Stripes that line up across seams | Panels are printed before they’re sewn together |
Its limits, plainly
- Polyester only. Sublimation doesn’t bond with cotton, so cotton-rich garments such as sweatshirts are decorated another way.
- Light base fabric. It prints onto white or light fabric. A black jersey is made by printing black onto white fabric.
- Raised texture needs another method. For a stitched, raised crest or number, we add embroidery or tackle twill on top of the sublimated body.
Products we sublimate
Soccer jerseys · Basketball jerseys · Ice hockey jerseys · American football jerseys · Baseball jerseys · Rugby jerseys · Volleyball uniforms · Performance T-shirts
Care for sublimated uniforms
Wash cold, inside out, with similar colours. Hang to dry. No bleach and no fabric softener, which can dull the colours over time.

Frequently asked questions
Do sublimated jerseys fade?
No. The ink sits inside the fibres, so washed cold and hung to dry, sublimated jerseys keep their colour for the life of the garment.
Does it cost more to add colours?
No. Sublimation prints every colour in one pass, so a ten-colour design costs the same as a one-colour design.
Can every jersey have a different name and number?
Yes. Each piece is printed individually, so every player gets their own name and number in the same print run.
